ERF 2005 Plenary and Awards Session Moves to Sunday Evening
The plenary and awards session will be held in the early evening
on Sunday 16 October 2005. At this event the Federation’s four
science awards will be presented and an outstanding plenary speaker will
kick off the conference theme of estuarine interactions and feedbacks.
This session will be immediately followed by the traditional Presidents’ reception.
This is a popular event at our conferences as it provides an opportunity for
attendees to reconnect with friends, mentors and colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.
Please plan your travel to the conference so that you can arrive to join us for
these two special events.
Please see the Sunday Plenary Section for more details.
ERF 2005 Poster Sessions Move to Midday
Vic Kennedy and Carl Friedrichs Co-Chairs, ERF 2005 Poster Program
During the ERF 2005 conference, all poster sessions and receptions
will occur during a 2-hour session at midday. No other conference events
will be scheduled during this time. Food and beverages will be available
so that people who wish to talk with poster presenters can do so without
having to leave the premises on foraging expeditions. On each of the
four days a new set of posters will be on display.
Poster presentations are an essential component of the ERF 2005 conference
scientific program. We strongly encourage every person who submits an abstract
to consider presenting his or her work in poster format. Presenting your work
as a poster does take significant work ahead of time – but it pays off
handsomely for both presenter and viewer. A well-crafted poster provides both
the author and the viewer with excellent information and an opportunity to
explore the science involved in a deeper conversation than is possible with
other presentation formats.
We are considering additional ways that poster presentations may be handled.
Some poster sessions may be integrated with oral sessions or linked to oral
sessions. Our goal is to ensure that our poster sessions provide excellent
exposure for the presenters and high quality interactions for all.
We will make every effort to accommodate your desires to use alternative poster
media such as video, computers or Internet links. Please note that the additional
costs of providing such services will be the responsibility of the presenters.
