• NEW! 10-11-05 - Hurricane Forum on Monday Evening
  Building on John Day’s overview in the opening forum will cover the dynamic forces of the hurricanes early impact assessments, critical science needs, change management and restoration strategies. Read the forum's complete description (PDF, 53k).
  
• UPDATE 10-11-05 - NOAA Town Hall Meeting Moved
  The NOAA Town Hall Meeting has moved from Monday Evening to Thursday at lunch time.

  Limited number of hotel rooms available at the Courtyard by Marriott in Norfolk until October 1, 2005 at a rate of $109 plus appropriate taxes. Contact the hotel directly by calling 757-963-6000. ERF Scientific Awards Call for Nominations

One of the highlights of our 2005 conference will be the conferring of the four Estuarine Research Federation Awards. We invite you to nominate candidates for the following awards:

• Odum Lifetime Achievement Award for a sustained record of important contributions to our understanding of estuaries.
• Cronin Award for an estuarine scientist early in his or her career who has shown greatest promise with early work carried out during the first six years past the Ph.D.
• William L. Niering Outstanding Educator Award for excellence in teaching in estuarine and coastal science.
• Donald W. Pritchard Award for the best physical oceanography paper published in Estuaries (2003-2004).
