01 October 2013 - Early Registration Deadline Extended for U.S. Government Employees Due to the U.S. Federal government shutdown, CERF has decided to extend the CERF 2013 conference early registration deadline for U.S. government employees. Federal employees who would like to receive the early registration discount can do so until Thursday, October 31 by emailing Lacy Kelly-Croft (lacykc@sgmeet.com) to request a special registration code.

As an additional reprieve, U.S. Federal government employees will not be required to have their credit cards charged for their first night’s deposit when making room reservations at the Town and Country Resort & Conference Center.

30 September 2013 - New Workshop Added Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc. will be hosting an "In Situ Nutrient Monitoring and Long-Term Water Quality Monitoring in Coastal Applications" workshop from 1:30 - 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 3.

23 September 2013 - Updated Preliminary Program Now Available An updated CERF 2013 preliminary program is now available online. With over 1250 abstracts from 34 different countries, CERF 2013 promises to be the largest and most diverse CERF conference ever!

30 July 2013 - Now Accepting Abstracts for Late-Breaking Posters If you missed the initial submission deadline, you now have another opportunity to submit your work for consideration at CERF 2013! The scientific program committee is pleased to announce they will be accepting late-breaking poster abstracts

Abstract submittal opens Thursday, 1 August 2013 at 12:00 Noon PDT and will close on Friday, 30 August 2013 at 11:59 PM PDT. The theme for the 2013 conference is "Toward Resilient Coasts and Estuaries, Science for Sustainable Solutions". Abstracts related to this theme are highly encouraged, but we also welcome content that addresses other aspects of coastal and estuarine science, management, and education. All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the submittal site at http://cerf2013.abstractcentral.com/. Abstract submittal guidelines can be found at http://www.sgmeet.com/cerf2013/submittal.asp. Notification of acceptance and assignment will be emailed in September. The abstract titles will be included in the official conference program book and appear in the online program. The conference limit of one first author oral or poster presentation per individual applies to this call with the exception of Education Sessions.

With over 1200 abstracts from 30 different countries received thus far, CERF 2013 is shaping up to be one of our best conferences yet. 02 July 2013 - Invasive Species Plenary Speakers Announced Three plenary speakers have been added to the Anthropogenic Facilitation of Species Invasions symposia. They are recognized experts in their field and represent a broad base of expertise on the impact, prevention and management of invasive species in aquatic environments.
